Privacy Policy for Tab-by: Tab Summarizer

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Tab-by: Tab Summarizer is a Chrome extension that helps users summarize and organize their open browser tabs and windows. This policy explains what data the extension processes and how that data is used.

Data the extension processes

When the user opens a Tab-by summary, the extension may process browser tab information such as tab titles, URLs, favicons, window and tab ordering, and page content visible in the browser. Page content may include text, headings, metadata, links, tables, and other page structure needed to create the local summary view.

How the data is used

The data is used only to generate and display tab summaries, group related tabs, show source pages, and help users navigate back to their open tabs. The extension does not use this data for advertising, tracking, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Local storage

The extension stores temporary tab snapshots and summary context in Chrome session storage so the summary page can load quickly. This storage is used for extension functionality and is not used to track users across websites.

Data sharing

Tab-by does not sell user data. Tab-by does not share user data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties. The extension processes tab and page data locally in the browser for its summary features.

Remote code

The extension does not load or execute remote JavaScript. All extension code is packaged with the extension.
